A German tank killer in a camouflage coverall, pose number 1, 1:35 from PANZER ART is a figure for scenes from the last months of the war.
Responsibility details are not available.
A figure of a German infantryman meant for close combat against armored equipment, as the PANZER ART line has worked him up. The figure has on him a one-piece camouflage coverall, the typical clothing of the closing months of the war, and he is modeled in a pose matching an approach to the target. The designation in the name tells the first pose apart from the second figure, which is listed separately.
In the last years of the war the German infantry received single-use anti-tank weapons with a short range, which called for the soldier to get within a few tens of meters of a vehicle. It was an employment bound up with cover in ruins, trenches and hedgerows, which the posture of the figure matches as well. Seat it therefore rather in cover than in the middle of open ground. For a diorama such a figure is a strong element of storytelling.
Do not copy the camouflage pattern one to one in this scale; a simplified shape of patches with soft edges is more readable. Work from the lightest area to the darkest and let strips of the base show through between the layers. Finish the metal parts and the skin separately, otherwise they will be lost in the busy area. At the end dust the figure lightly, so that it fits into the terrain it stands on.
