Eduard 1:35 Zimmerit Sd.Kfz.163 StuG.IV is an application set imitating the Zimmerit anti-magnetic coating for the German StuG IV assault gun. An accessory for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set of the Czech maker Eduard imitates the Zimmerit surface finish on a model of the German StuG IV assault gun (Sd.Kfz.163) in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory, which carries the characteristic ridged structure of the anti-magnetic coating over onto the armor surfaces of the model.
The StuG IV was a German assault gun of the Second World War built on the chassis of the Panzer IV with a fixed superstructure carrying a gun of 75 mm caliber. It served for direct fire support of the infantry as well as for destroying tanks. In the time of its manufacture, Zimmerit was applied to the vertical armor surfaces as protection against magnetic mines.
Lay the set on a clean, degreased surface of the model according to the enclosed layout and glue it with super glue. Work patiently surface by surface, so that the pattern carries over. Once it has dried, go on with painting and weathering; the structure of the Zimmerit comes out after washes and dry brushing have been applied.
This is an add-on Zimmerit application set, not a model of the vehicle. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
