A set of figures in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. The subject is a German squad intended for destroying armored vehicles in combat at short range. The word Set in the name is a distinguishing detail: the manufacturer also lists the same figures separately under the designations number 1 and number 2, while this set joins them in one package. For a scene where several figures are to stand together, the set brings more figures together in one package.
Panzerknacker is the German term for soldiers who destroyed armored vehicles in close combat, that is beyond the reach of their own antitank guns. It was a task for small groups of infantry, who had to get within a short distance of a vehicle and used the terrain, buildings and obstacles to do so. That is exactly why a group of figures makes sense in modeling terms: the story of a scene arises from how they stand in relation to the vehicle. The name states neither the particular armament nor the exact period.
With a multi-figure scene, plan the composition first. Stand the figures dry beside the model of the vehicle and beside the terrain features, check the lines of sight and the spacing, and only then glue. Choose the glue according to the contents of the package. Paint over primer and vary the shade of the uniforms and the degree of dirt slightly between the figures, so that the group does not look mass-produced. Leave the faces for last and unify the surface at the end with matte varnish.
