The Plants and Weeds A set from Matho Models is a scenic material for creating low vegetation in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit or a finished decoration; it is a vegetation accessory from which you create clumps of plants and weeds yourself exactly where the scene needs them. Weeds are in fact the detail that sets an average diorama apart from reality: they grow at the foot of walls, in cracks and along tracks, everywhere that tends to be forgotten in miniature.
Place the vegetation from set A at the foot of buildings, on the edges of sidewalks, around fences, in ditches and on the edges of a base. It works splendidly in combination with static grass: while the grass forms the flat base, the individual plants create structure and accents of height. It suits military and civilian subjects of practically any period.
Separate the individual plants carefully and shape the leaves three-dimensionally with pointed tweezers or the handle of a brush, as a flat plant does not look credible. Glue them with a small drop of PVA or cyanoacrylate glue into a hollow prepared beforehand in the terrain. Fine-tune the coloring with a light wash or a dry pastel: dusty tones by tracks, fresh green by water. Disguise the roots with a small scatter of soil.
