Hobby Boss 9K79 Tochka (SS-21 Scarab) is a plastic kit of the Soviet tactical ballistic missile on its wheeled launch vehicle in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Hobby Boss captures the Soviet 9K79 Tochka missile complex, known in the West under the designation SS-21 Scarab. It is the complete launch vehicle (TEL) on a wheeled chassis together with the tactical ballistic missile it carries. The model offers a richly broken-down hull and chassis surface and a fully rendered drivetrain.
Tochka is a mobile short-range tactical ballistic missile that the Soviet Union developed as the successor to the older Luna-M system (FROG-7). It entered service in the 1970s and in upgraded versions serves to this day. The missile is carried on a self-propelled wheeled launch vehicle that handles movement, aiming and the launch itself, so a battery can change its firing position quickly. The system was also supplied to a number of friendly armies.
On a large vehicle, assemble and glue the suspension and the chassis before you close the hull, so that you can reach all the parts easily. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic, sand the joints and apply primer before painting. The large surfaces of the hull call for an airbrush. Bring the earthy green and the camouflage patterns to life with a dark wash in the recesses and dry application of a lighter color on the edges; finish the dust and mud on the chassis and the tires with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
