Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the tracked 9P149 launching vehicle, which forms the ground element of the Shturm-S anti-tank missile system. The model in 1:35 scale comes from Trumpeter, a manufacturer with an extensive range of eastern hardware. Check the contents of the package, the number of parts and the decal schemes against the details given on the box.
The 9P149 vehicle was created on the chassis of the MT-LB armored tracked carrier, which is light, amphibious and has a low ground pressure, so it moves well even over terrain with little bearing capacity. An extending launcher is mounted on the hull; it folds down into the travel position for movement and extends above the vehicle before use. The guided missiles are housed in a magazine inside the hull and are loaded automatically. Guidance is semi-automatic with commands transmitted by radio, which allows the crew to track the target through a sight. The vehicle became one of the typical elements of ground units of eastern origin from the 1980s on.
The MT-LB chassis has a fine running gear, so assemble it on a flat surface to keep the model from sitting crooked. Finish and paint the launcher separately; you will then reach the hull more easily. A filler primer, a single base shade and gentle lightening of the upper surfaces all prove their worth. A wash into the welds and the pressings, and dust pigments on the lower hull and the tracks, will give the model depth.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
