The real subject

The kit captures a Russian armored vehicle in 1:35 scale. That is the most widespread scale in military modeling of all: on a vehicle five meters long the model comes out at just under fifteen centimeters, a size that still has room for small items such as stowed equipment, hatches and tools, and the model can still be displayed on a shelf without trouble. Most figures and diorama accessories are available in the same scale, so the model can be set into a scene.

Building

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Separate the parts from the sprues with nippers or a sharp blade, sand the remaining stub flush and glue the joints with a cement for polystyrene, which melts the plastic and holds the joint more firmly than general-purpose glues. A dry fit before gluing pays off especially on large parts that are joined along a long edge.

Painting

Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a little dish soap and let them dry, so that no greasy film from production stays on the surface. Apply the paint in thin coats, otherwise the surface detail is lost. A dark wash in the recessed seams and a light edge accent with a dry brush bring out the shape of the vehicle even without elaborate techniques.
