An injection-molded plastic kit of the German single-axle Sd.Anhänger 51 ammunition trailer in 1:35 scale from Italeri. This is not a vehicle or a tank but a towed trailer, which during the Second World War served to carry ammunition. The box contains two complete trailers, so it suits a diorama with several of them. The exact contents of the particular box are given in the instructions inside.
The Sd.Anhänger 51 was a light single-axle trailer of the German army intended above all to carry ammunition. It was most often towed behind half-tracks and light tractors, for example behind anti-aircraft half-tracks armed with 20 mm Flak guns or behind light tractors of the Sd.Kfz.10 family. The box of the trailer was arranged so as to protect the ammunition it carried, and thanks to its simple construction the trailer hitched easily to a range of Wehrmacht vehicles. That is exactly why it is a rewarding addition to dioramas and scenes of supplying firing positions.
Even a less experienced modeler will build the trailer, which makes clean work and faithful weathering stand out all the more. Take care over the correct seating of the axle and the drawbar, so that the trailer stands level. Enliven the base dark yellow (Dunkelgelb) or gray finish with shading and pick out the edges and the box with a dry brush. Dust and mud pigments on the wheels, the fenders and the lower areas will give the trailer the used, front-line look. The pair of trailers lets you try two different weathering variants.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
