This is not a kit of the vehicle but a 3D-printed resin accessory of the engine deck with a realistically rendered winter canvas for models of the heavy artillery tractor Sd.Kfz. 9 FAMO in 1:35 scale. The folds of the fabric and the strapping of the canvas are printed directly into the part, so laborious shaping out of filler falls away.
The Sd.Kfz. 9 FAMO was the largest German half-track tractor of the Second World War, used to recover and haul heavy equipment. In the freezing conditions of the Eastern Front the engine compartments were often covered with canvas to protect them against the cold, and that is exactly the subject of this modification.
Wash the part free of residues of uncured print resin, cut off the print supports and adjust the mating surface so that the cover drops onto the top of the hull. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The canvas comes out nicely once it is primed and a dry brush or dust pigments are used.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
