This decal set in 1:35 scale is aimed at the British Sherman Mk V in Burma. It rounds out the range of markings for a campaign in which Allied armored units advanced in conditions completely unlike the European theater.
Sherman Mk V was the British designation for the American M4A4 tank, that is the version with a lengthened hull and with a composite gasoline engine made by joining several automotive units into one whole. It is exactly the longer hull and the different layout of the running gear that set this variant apart from the other Shermans at first glance, which matters to a builder when choosing a kit and when placing the markings. In Burma the British and Indian armored units deployed Shermans in the final phase of the campaign and their vehicles carried markings different from the machines in Europe.
The lengthened hull of the Mk V offers a large sloping front area on which markings stand out well, but the slope of the area makes seating them harder. Tilt the model while working so that the area is horizontal, and let the decal dry without moving it. The turret sides have a cast texture, so a decal softener helps there. British markings tended to be rounded out by horizontal stripes and tactical numbers, whose positions relative to each other should be laid out in advance. The recommended preparation of the decals is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
