The D-74 is a Soviet towed field gun of 122 mm caliber from the postwar period. It stands out for its long barrel, which gives the shell a high muzzle velocity and the gun a long range. The carriage with its trails spread apart allows steady traverse to the sides. The gun served with the artillery of a number of armies using Soviet equipment.
Pay attention to the assembly of the carriage and the barrel, which have to line up for the gun to sit correctly in its firing position. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic, sand the joints down and treat the surface with primer. Lay the finish on with an airbrush, and fine-tune the metal areas of the barrel and the breech with a dry brush and light washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
