An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet ZiL-130 cargo truck in 1:35 scale from Zvezda. The model captures one of the most widespread trucks of the Eastern Bloc, with its characteristic cab and flatbed cargo bed. The box contains the sprues with the parts, a clear part for the glazing, decals and instructions. Glue and paints are not included.
The ZiL-130 was built at the Moscow plant from the early 1960s until the 1990s and became the backbone of Soviet and later Russian road haulage. It was powered by a rugged gasoline eight-cylinder engine of around six liters and carried a load of roughly five tons. It was used in countless civilian and military versions, from the flatbed through the dump truck to special-purpose bodies.
Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. Lay down a primer before painting, and an airbrush is ideal for a smooth finish on the cab. It is worth finishing and painting the chassis and the engine before closing up the cab and the cargo bed. Dust and mud effects can be tuned with washes and pigments. Fit the mirrors, the wipers and the other small parts at the end of the build so they are not damaged while handling.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
