1:35 Splinter Camo Paint Masks For T-14 Armata MBT is a three-sheet set of masks for the angular camouflage of the Russian T-14 main battle tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
Three sheets of pre-cut shapes will cover the whole tank with angular camouflage whose fields meet at sharp angles. The extent is greater here than with ordinary sets precisely because the pattern continues across the side skirts, the superstructure and the large unmanned turret, and it has to carry over exactly at the seams. Tracing such a scheme by hand is almost impossible.
The T-14 Armata first appeared at a military parade in 2015 and presented an unusual layout: the entire three-man crew sits in an armored capsule in the forward part of the hull, while the turret is remotely controlled and without people in it. The design is meant to increase the crew's chance of surviving a hit and at the same time makes it possible to fit a larger gun and extensive sensors into the turret. That is exactly why the machine appears a great deal in camouflage schemes with pronounced lines.
The key is the continuity of the fields across divided parts, so lay the masks on dry before spraying and check that the lines continue from the rear onto the side. Sharp corners are ensured by applying the paint in several thin passes at right angles to the surface. Smooth any lifted edges down with a blunt tip once applied, so that no overspray gets under them. On the large turret it pays to start from the upper surface and work down the sides.
