A diorama part with a stairway whose steps and surroundings are decorated with skulls. It is intended for figures 54 mm tall, which corresponds to 1:35 scale. A stairway gives a scene height and a natural direction of movement: the figure either climbs it or looks down from the top step, and the composition thereby gains a tension that a flat board cannot offer.
It suits collectors of figures and builders of small settings with a dark or fantasy pitch. The skulls set the mood of the scene, so the part reads better with a hero, an undead creature or a cult figure than with an ordinary historical soldier.
Before painting, wash the part in lukewarm soapy water, degrease it and let it dry. Cut off the excess material and the marks left by production with a sharp blade a little away from the part and lightly sand what is left. Stand the figure up dry first and check that the foot sits on the step over its whole area; only then glue it down with a glue suited to the material in question.
