The Friulmodel metal tracks in 1:35 scale are a replacement set of individual white metal links for the Soviet T-64 main battle tank. It is not a model but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic or rubber tracks from the boxed kit. The links are joined with metal pins into a fully workable track with faithful weight and a natural sag.
The T-64 was a Soviet main battle tank that brought a number of novelties in its day – composite armor, an autoloader for the gun and a powerful engine. It became the basis for further generations of Soviet tanks. The set faithfully replaces its characteristic track.
First clean the individual links of casting flash and fit them together. They are joined with metal pins from the enclosed wire, which you cut to length, and the result is a genuinely workable track that follows the road wheels and the natural sag between them. Metal holds paint and pigments splendidly, so we recommend painting and weathering the tracks before fitting them to the model. On a modern tank a cleaner weathering with dust deposits on the track stands out.
