About product

Dragon 1:35 Tiger I Early Production

An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Dragon. The subject is the German Tiger I heavy tank in its early production form, which is marked by the typical features of the first production vehicles.

The real subject

The Tiger I was a German heavy tank of the Second World War with an 88 mm gun and heavy frontal armor. The early production vehicles had a number of characteristic details, for example the layout of the fittings on the hull, the type of commander's cupola and the side fenders, by which they differ from the later batches. The vehicle earned a reputation as a formidable opponent on both main fronts.

Building and painting tips

Assemble the running gear and seat the tracks exactly, which is demanding on the Tiger because of the interleaved road wheels. A base dark yellow shade suits the early scheme, possibly with the later camouflage, completed with washes and dust pigments. Bring out the metal and worn surfaces with graphite or pigments.
