Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed plastic kit of the Tiger I heavy tank in the late-production version. The model from Rye Field Model offers complete internal equipment for the hull and the turret, a separately shaped engine and a surface with Zimmerit texture molded into the part - the paste-like anti-magnetic coating the Germans applied against magnetically attached mines. It includes photo-etched parts, clear parts, decals for several variants and individual track links that remain workable once assembled.
The Tiger I was among the most feared heavy tanks of the Second World War. It was powered by a Maybach gasoline engine and its main armament was an 88 mm gun derived from an anti-aircraft gun. Late-production machines were given, among other things, steel road wheels without rubber tire bands, a new type of commander's cupola and further changes that simplified production. The vehicle was deployed on both the Eastern and the Western Front until the end of the war.
With a model that has a full interior it pays to assemble and paint the inside of the fighting compartment, the engine and the running gear before you close the hull up. The relief of the Zimmerit comes out after a darker wash is applied into the recesses; fine-tune the mud and dust effects on the running gear with pigments. Assemble the tracks link by link, so they keep their mobility and a natural sag.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
