A set of classic water-slide (wet) decals in 1:35 scale from Star Decals. It brings tactical numbers, crosses and markings for Tiger II heavy tanks and the command Befehls-Tiger II of the heavy tank detachment schwere Panzer-Abteilung 509. It is not a kit but an accessory for finishing a model faithfully.
The Tiger II, nicknamed the King Tiger, was the heaviest German tank put into service in series during the Second World War. It combined strong frontal armor with sloping surfaces and a massive long-barreled 88 mm gun. Command versions (Befehlspanzer) carried extended radio equipment on top of that. The detachment s.Pz.Abt.509 deployed these machines on the Eastern Front.
Varnish the surface under a decal with a gloss varnish, so that the markings adhere without silvering. Dip the decal briefly in lukewarm water, slide it onto the model and seat it with a softener, particularly across the extensive surfaces of the turret. At the end coat it with a matte varnish and bring it into line with the patina and the dust effects.
This is a set of decals on its own. A model, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
