The Renault UE with the 40/32 cm Wk Fl salvo rocket launcher in 1:35 scale from Mirage Hobby is an injection-molded plastic kit of the German conversion of a captured French tracked carrier.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Mirage Hobby captures the German conversion of the small French Renault UE tracked carrier into a mobile rocket launcher. The package holds sprues with plastic parts, the rockets and their launching frame, link-and-length tracks and a decal sheet. Mirage Hobby is a short-run brand, so the build is somewhat more demanding and we recommend it to more experienced modelers.
The Renault UE was a light French armored tracked tractor and load carrier of the 1930s. After the defeat of France the Germans took over large numbers of these machines and rebuilt many of them for new tasks. This version carried a frame with heavy rockets that laid down devastating area fire, and among the troops a nickname took hold for such weapons that referred to the infantry equivalent of dive bombing.
Put the link-and-length tracks together patiently according to the instructions, and watch the correct sag around the road wheels. It pays to finish the running gear and the interior before closing the hull up. Use an airbrush and a primer for painting; build the patina of mud and dust effects up with washes and pigments. Bring the rockets and the launching frame to life with metallic shades.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
