Smoke grenade dischargers for modern American armored vehicles in 1:35 scale from E.T. Model is a set of accurate parts replacing the simplified blocks from a kit. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set of parts for building the blocks of smoke grenade dischargers that modern American armored vehicles carry. It replaces the simplified kit castings, where the mouths of the tubes tend to be solid or crudely suggested, with parts of a markedly finer form. It is not a kit of the vehicle, but an accessory for a model in 1:35 scale.
Smoke grenade dischargers are clusters of short tubes, usually fixed to the sides of the turret. They fire smoke grenades that create a screen hiding the vehicle in a short time — it is used when moving out of a threatened position or when halting and withdrawing. During the service of the individual types the blocks changed in the number of tubes, in their arrangement and in their mounting, so it is a detail by which a model can be placed in a particular period and configuration.
Wash the parts in warm water with detergent first, so that remains of the mold release agent are removed and the paint then holds well. Cut the casting residue off with a fine saw or a cutter, not with pliers, and sand it wet with your airways protected. They are glued with cyanoacrylate; ordinary cement for plastic will not bond these materials. Apply a base coat before painting. Darken the inside of the tubes, and adjust the places on the covers that are rubbed in service with drybrushing or with precise emphasis of the edges; then bring the whole thing together with a thin wash.
The set is an accessory for a model, not a kit in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
