An injection-molded plastic kit of the American GMC CCKW-352 truck in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. It is the variant with a short wheelbase (352) and a ring machine gun mount above the cab. The detailed kit also contains photo-etched parts and braided wire for a faithful rendering of the vehicle.
The GMC CCKW was a 6x6 off-road truck with a 2.5 ton payload, one of the icons of Allied supply during the Second World War and after it. Soldiers nicknamed it the Deuce and a Half or Jimmy. It was built with an open and a closed cab and in versions with a short (352) and a long wheelbase. The version with a ring machine gun mount above the cab allowed the vehicle to defend itself against ground and air targets alike.
The 6x6 chassis has a lot of parts: assemble them in groups and keep checking the alignment of the axles and wheels. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and the plastic with thin modeling cement. Before painting, apply a primer and spray the olive drab base with an airbrush. A realistic look comes from a wash in the recesses, chipped paint on the edges and above all mud and dust on the wheels and the chassis using pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
