A resin detail set from Aires in 1:48 scale for replacing the landing gear bays of the plastic kit of the A-6 Intruder carrier attack aircraft. The resin bays bring accurate inner structure with runs of piping, stiffeners and detail that injection-molded plastic cannot deliver. It is not an airplane model but an aftermarket accessory for more experienced modelers.
The A-6 Intruder was a two-seat carrier attack aircraft of the US Navy made for all-weather operations. It was powered by two turbojets and could carry a large load on external pylons.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, separate the casting blocks and bond them with super glue. Paint the bays before the wing and the fuselage are closed. The detail comes out after shading and a light touch along the edges.
This is a resin accessory. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
