A resin set of wheels from DEF Model in 1:35 scale for the American LAV-25 wheeled armored car. The wheels have the load indicated, with a realistically flattened contact face and a bulged sidewall. It is not a vehicle kit but a running gear detail accessory that replaces the plastic wheels of the base kit with a truer rendering, including a fine tread pattern.
The LAV-25 is an American eight-wheeled armored car derived from the LAV family of vehicles, used above all by the Marine Corps as a reconnaissance and fire support vehicle carrying an infantry squad. All-wheel drive and amphibious capability make it well able to move across country. The sturdy tires carry a considerable load, which is why they show a clear flattening at rest.
Wash the wheels to remove any release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the contact faces. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and turn the flattened side perpendicular to the ground, in order for the vehicle to stand realistically. Apply a base coat before painting; knock the tires back with a matte paint, pick the hubs out differently and bring out the structure of the tread with dust and mud effects.
The accessory does not hold the model itself, glue or paints. It is intended for completing a kit you already have.
