An injection-molded plastic kit of the American main battle tank M1A1 Abrams in 1:35 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya. The set is known for the precise fit of its parts and clear instructions, which make it one of the more approachable kits of modern armor. It also suits less experienced modelers who want to build a representative Abrams model.
The M1A1 is an upgraded version of the Abrams tank introduced in the 1980s. It brought a 120 mm main gun, strengthened armor and further improvements over the original M1. The tank is powered by a gas turbine, protected by composite armor, and together with its modern fire-control system it is one of the most powerful tanks of its era.
Finish the running gear and the turret bottom before closing up the hull. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement. Apply the base color with an airbrush over a primer; weathering with washes and pigments highlighting edges, hatches and a dusty running gear then gives the model a realistic look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
