Bravo 6 1:35 US Navy SEALs with VC Flag is a resin set of two unpainted figures of American naval special forces with a captured flag. It is complemented by photo-etched parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds two unpainted figures in 1:35 scale cast in resin and complemented by photo-etched parts. The composition captures a pair of members of the American naval special forces from the period of the war in Vietnam; one of the figures holds a captured cloth flag, which is precisely the photo-etched part, so that it looks thin enough. The manufacturer is Bravo 6, a brand focused on finely sculpted resin figures. It is not a kit of equipment but an accessory for a diorama or the basis of a vignette on its own.
The figures have the typical kit of patrol units: light clothing without a heavy load-bearing system, ammunition pouches, a bush hat or a scarf for headgear and personal weapons. It is precisely the looser clothing and the unusual poses that make this set rewarding for water and riverine scenes. The photo-etched parts make it possible to work the flat feature of the flag up more convincingly than would be possible in resin.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off and sand the surfaces; use respiratory protection while sanding resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate super glue; bend the photo-etch over a round bar, so that the flag gains a natural wave, and attach it with cyanoacrylate super glue as well. Apply a primer before painting. Paint the textile from a base shade through the shadows into the lights and build the skin up in layers. Finally unify the surface with a matte varnish; with damp scenes you can use a gloss gel locally.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
