An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M36 tank destroyer in 1:35 scale by Tamiya. The model has a detailed open turret interior including the breech of the 90mm gun, the seats, the sights and the traverse mechanism, plus ammunition stowage, tow cables and one tank crew figure. Two marking options are included.
The M36, nicknamed Jackson, was an American tank destroyer of the late Second World War. Its open rotating turret carried a powerful 90mm gun that could destroy even heavy German tanks, against which the lighter armament of the earlier types was not enough. It was built on a chassis derived from American medium tanks and combined decent mobility with heavy firepower.
The open turret leaves the inside on view, so finish and paint the interior and the gun breech before assembly. Apply a primer and spray with an airbrush. The olive drab finish comes alive with washes in the recesses, edges picked out by drybrushing and dust pigments on the running gear. Finish the figure and the tow cables separately and fit them at the very end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
