The set holds resin castings from which you will build a figure composition in 1:35 scale. Fallen Comrade is the name of the composition, which determines only the subject and the mutual placement of the figures. It is neither a model of a vehicle nor of an aircraft but a figure accessory for a diorama or a display case on its own.
The composition is conceived as a scene with a tie between the figures, so it holds together even without surrounding scenery. The set belongs to the range of Marines from 1968, which Bravo 6 has worked up in a uniform sculptural style and in the same scale, so it can be put together with further sets of the same range into a larger whole. With figure sets of this type the castings are supplied divided into several parts, usually torso, head, limbs and carried equipment. Resin holds finer detail than injection-molded plastic, so the folds of the cloth, the straps and the small kit all stand out.
First wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent because of the release agent from the mold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a sharp cutter, level the surfaces with abrasive paper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate super glue; cement for plastic has no effect on resin. With a multi-figure composition, assemble the figures dry first and verify that they fit together and that the whole looks good from every side. Paint over a primer, build the skin up in thin coats of oils or acrylics and the uniform in the olive green shades of tropical field equipment. A wash into the folds and a fine dry brush on the edges will give the surface depth.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
