A plastic kit of the USMC M4A2 Sherman 75mm Pacific 1:35 from Academy: the Marine Corps diesel Sherman with wading trunks for the fighting in the Pacific.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the M4A2 Sherman tank with the 75 mm gun in the version of the US Marine Corps for the fighting in the Pacific, in 1:35 scale from Academy. The kit captures the characteristic features of the Pacific Shermans: added plank armor, tall wading trunks for landings and photo-etched parts. The hatches can be built open or closed.
The M4A2 was the diesel version of the famous Sherman tank, which the US Marine Corps preferred for logistical reasons. In the fighting in the Pacific these tanks were given wading kits for amphibious landings and added armor against Japanese weapons. Against the armored vehicles Japan deployed, the Shermans were as a rule markedly superior.
Finish and paint the running gear before the hull is closed up. Glue the photo-etched parts with a super glue. Pacific Shermans tended to be thickly caked with mud and dust: use washes into the recesses, dust pigments on the running gear and, if you like, wooden crates and equipment as accessories. A gloss varnish before the decals, a matte one at the end.
The model comes unassembled and unpainted. The glue, the paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
