1:35 USSR pre-war awards, pt1 (until 1943)

Soviet pre-war medals and decorations for figures in 1:35

The first part of the Quinta Studio range covering Soviet awards introduced before the war, in the form used until 1943. It serves as a finishing touch, not as the basis of a model.

A detail a brush cannot manage

In 1:35 scale a figure is about five centimeters tall and a medal on the chest takes up a fraction of a millimeter. Painting it by hand so that the shape is recognizable is beyond even very steady hands. A ready-made part is therefore the usual solution in this scale, and it decides how convincing the whole figure looks.

Where the set fits

1:35 is the most widespread scale in military modeling, so the choice of Soviet figures and vehicles is wide. The accessory will find a use in practically every tableau from the first years of the war and from the period that preceded them. Soviet figures from this period are moreover issued in 1:35 by several brands, so choosing a basic figure is rarely a problem.

Before you start work

• Check that the paint of the uniform is perfectly dry.
• Have tweezers ready with a tip that will not scratch the figure.
• Expect that in this scale even your breathing matters.
• Go through the enclosed instruction sheet before fitting.

Intended for

Builders of Soviet figures and dioramas in the most common military scale who want the equipment and the awards to match the period. It also helps where the difference between the individual figures of a group should be clear at first glance.
