This photo-etched set of thin brass is an accessory for the plastic kit of the French wheeled VAB 4x4 armored personnel carrier in 1:35 scale, aimed at the outer (exterior) details. It is not a model but a set of fine metal parts for raising the fidelity.
On armored personnel carriers, exterior sets usually make the grilles and engine guards, the fenders, the brackets, the loops, the tie-down loops, the screens, the hatch hinges and other outer fittings more precise. These features ought to be thin and sharp, which injection-molded plastic does not allow.
Cut the parts off the fret on a hard surface and make the bends along the etched grooves with a bending tool. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with epoxy. Degrease the metal and lay down a base coat of primer before painting. Photo-etched grilles stand out when dust and mud effects are used.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
