An accessory set of flat wheels with hubcaps for the VW Type 82E Käfer 1:35 closes the pair of deflated renditions and carries the number two.
Responsibility details are not available.
The last of the two flat forms of tires for the staff car VW Type 82E. The tires are without pressure, the disc is covered by a cap inherited from the civilian version and the dimensions fit builds in 1:35 size.
At first glance it looks like an ordinary prewar automobile, but the difference is in the chassis. The military version sat higher, had sturdier springing and reduction gears in the rear hubs, so a marked gap appeared under the fenders and the wheels stood lower. Common additions were a blackout headlight, brackets for jerrycans and a plain finish with no glossy trim. Anyone building the model should watch that ground clearance, because it is precisely what sets the staff machine apart from the later postwar Beetle, with which it is often confused.
Deflated rubber lowers the ground clearance a little, which is clearly noticeable on a raised chassis. So try dry how the car stands, modify the mating surface if need be, and only then glue the wheels on. Only after that should you start on the weathering, so that dust settles even in the places where the wheel meets the base. Settled rubber will also take a slightly coarser grain.
The wheels are sold without the vehicle and without paints.
