1:35 Waffen-SS tank officers winter clotches set

Tank officers in winter clothing, 1:35

A set of figures of German Waffen-SS tank officers in winter clothing in 1:35 scale. It fills out a model of a combat vehicle as well as a whole winter scene, where a crew away from the machine shows best. How many figures the package contains and what poses they are in is given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Why winter clothing in particular

Winter dress gives figures a completely different silhouette from a summer uniform. The layers of fabric round the shoulders off, the sleeves are bulkier and the folds deeper, so shading stands out on them and a scene gives away the season at once. At the same time it opens up a different palette of shades from the one a modeler is used to on military figures; lighter clothing beside a dark vehicle is a rewarding contrast.

Building and painting tips

• Cut the excess material off a little way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the surface down.
• Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and degrease them.
• Lay the figures out dry before you reach for the glue.
• Paint in thin coats, or a heavy coat will flood the folds of the winter clothing.
• A darker glaze run into the folds and a lighter pass over the edges will give the fabric volume.
• A glue suitable for the material used is given in the manufacturer's instructions.

What the delivery contains

This is a set of figures, not a model of a vehicle. The paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The detailed contents of the package are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
