Water lilies in 1:35 scale as a scenic accessory for the water surface of ponds, pools and flooded ditches.
Responsibility details are not available.
A water surface in a diorama only looks believable once there is something on it. An empty glossy area looks like glass, whereas a few floating leaves give away at once that this is still water with a life of its own. Water lilies in 1:35 scale serve exactly that purpose: they break up the reflection, give the surface a sense of scale and direct the eye where you need it.
Ponds and pools suggest themselves, along with overgrown ditches beside roads, flooded craters, oxbow lakes and the tanks of farms and mills. Irregular placement works well: a few leaves in a cluster, a couple on their own further from the bank and open water between them. Near the bank, where the water is shallower and calmer, the growth tends to be denser than further out in the middle of an open area.
Wash and degrease the surfaces before painting and apply the paint in thin layers. Do not keep the leaves in a single green: darken the older ones, leave the edges lightened and here and there add a browned or torn one. Fit them only onto a cured surface so that they do not shift while being set, and keep the mating surface as small as possible so that the leaf lies on the water rather than standing above it. Finally unify the surrounding surface so that the transition between leaf and water is not sharp. The procedure for assembly and the recommended glue are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Paints, glue, the base and the material for the water surface are not part of this item, unless stated otherwise.
