An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet fighter aircraft MiG-3 in the late production standard, in 1:72 scale from Armory. It is a modern short-run (small-series) kit with finely engraved panel lines and riveting. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The MiG-3 was a Soviet single-seat fighter aircraft powered by a liquid-cooled V12. It excelled at great heights, where it was among the fastest Soviet fighters of its time, while at low and medium altitudes it was less agile. It was in use from 1941, among other things in anti-aircraft defense and at the front in the first phases of the Great Patriotic War. The late production series differed from the early machines in details of the airframe and the armament.
With short-run kits, expect more careful preparation of the parts: clean off the molding remnants, clean up any flash and preferably try the joints dry before gluing. Use liquid cement for plastic applied by capillary action into the joints. Finish and paint the cockpit and the landing gear before closing the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush in thin coats; bring out the panel lines with a wash and unify the surface with a varnish of the sheen you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
