A standalone figure of a German soldier of 1944 in 1:35 scale from Black Dog, meant for the quieter moments of a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure of a German soldier of 1944 in 1:35 scale comes from the extensive line of single figures from Black Dog. The same line follows it with a version marked as a grenadier; how the poses of the two figures differ cannot be read from the names.
A single soldier suits the quieter moments of a scene, a halt at the roadside, a rest beside a vehicle, a look at an unfolded map. Such moments are usually more convincing in a diorama than dramatic action, because they do not tempt you into exaggerated gestures and they combine more easily with the other elements of the scene. The figure can also be set inside a half-ruined building, where a window frame or a broken wall frames it nicely.
Clean the casting before painting and let it dry thoroughly; a base in a light gray shade will then show clearly where the folds are and where the flat areas lie. With the clothing proceed in three steps: a base tone, a darker wash into the shadows and light brightening of the raised areas. Leave the metal parts of the equipment until the very end, so that the wash from the surrounding areas does not get into them.
