1:35 British paratropers set N°2

The real subject

Figures of British paratroopers in 1:35 scale. Airborne units can be told from line infantry by the cut of their kit and by how the load is distributed about the body, so the stance and the arrangement of the equipment carry a large part of the final impression. The number 2 in the designation sets this set apart from the other items of the same line.

What to expect from the set

These are accessory figures for a scene or for hardware in the same scale. The 1:35 scale is rewarding for figures: it carries fine painting of a face and shading of fabric, and yet it does not call for as sure a hand as smaller scales. The set can be used in a display scene and as a standalone figure on a base.

• 1:35 scale, the most widespread scale for ground hardware
• the subject is British paratroopers
• the figures are supplied unpainted
• the number 2 sets the set apart within the line
• suited to a diorama and to standing on display on its own

Building and painting tips

Cut any excess material away a little distance from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder carefully. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts, or the paint will hold badly. Choose the glue to match the material of the parts: liquid modeling cement for polystyrene, while cyanoacrylate glue holds on parts of other materials. It works well to apply a base coat, to build the paint from darker tones to lighter ones and to finish the face with thin glazes. The particular assembly procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
