Voyager Model 1:35 Sd.Kfz.164 Nashorn — photo-etched armor plates and fenders is an add-on set for a plastic kit you already own, not a standalone model. The metal parts replace the thick plastic sheet of the superstructure and the fenders on the Dragon 6387, 6165, 6166 and 6314 kits.

This set from Voyager Model is made of photo-etched metal and is meant for detailing the Dragon 6387, 6165, 6166 and 6314 plastic kits. It is not a model of the vehicle. On a subject with an open fighting superstructure the thickness of the sheet is especially visible, because it is seen both inside and out; photo-etched parts therefore change the final impression on this kind of vehicle more than on closed hulls.
The Nashorn, listed as the Sd.Kfz.164, was a German self-propelled tank destroyer with an 88 mm anti-tank gun mounted in a tall superstructure open at the top. The chassis used a common design derived from the medium tanks, so the vehicle was fairly light but at the same time only lightly protected. The armor walls of the superstructure were there to shield the crew against splinters and small-arms fire rather than against artillery hits, and they were therefore thin, which is the key point from the modeling standpoint.
Because the superstructure is open, reckon with the inner side of the sheet being visible too. It pays to paint the inside before you close the assembly up and before the small clamps go on. First try standing the metal walls against each other dry, using a square if need be, so that they stand square. Glue with cyanoacrylate in small amounts and always hold a joint for a moment. Bend the fenders along the whole length at once. Apply the paint in thin coats; a heavy pass floods the fine rivets and structures the photo-etched parts are bought for.
The set holds photo-etched metal parts exclusively. It does not hold the plastic kit, the glue or the paints.
