A set of unassembled figures in 1:35 scale: three Soviet soldiers and three dogs trained to attack armored equipment. An accessory for a diorama or for bringing a finished model of a tank to life.
Responsibility details are not available.
In the first months of the fighting on the Eastern Front the Red Army reached for a method that today is recalled by textbooks rather than display cases: dogs trained to look for food under a moving vehicle were to run under an enemy tank with a charge on their backs. Practice differed from the training ground, the results were poor and the whole program was soon curtailed. Even so it remained part of the story of the first year of the war, and modelers regularly treat it as a subject with a great emotional charge.
In the box you will find three human figures and three animals, all in an unassembled state on injection-molded sprues. The soldiers are captured at the moment of preparation, with leashes and with a harness, and the animals in motion as well as sitting. In its dimensions the set matches the standard in which most models of ground equipment are built.
Figures are not the starting point of a build but its point. The scene itself is carried either by a kit of a combat vehicle or by a base with terrain, and the figures enter it as a scale and as an action. The recommended order is therefore clear: first the equipment and the terrain, only then the people and the dogs, because it is only from a part-built scene that one can tell how many figures will fit into it.
Six small moldings turn a static model into a moment with an action of its own.
