E.T. Model 1:35 WWII U.S. M4A3E2 Sherman is a photo-etched detail set for the plastic kit of the American M4A3E2 assault tank. It is not a model, but an accessory that replaces coarse plastic parts with thin metal.

A set of photo-etched parts intended to refine the plastic kit of the American M4A3E2 Sherman assault tank in 1:35 scale. Photo-etched sheet has a real thickness that injection-molded plastic cannot imitate, so the fenders, the grilles, the brackets, the clamps and the stowage loops look markedly truer once they are replaced. The set on its own is not a kit of the tank and the base model is not included in the package.
The M4A3E2, nicknamed Jumbo, was an assault tank derived from the production M4A3. It was given substantially thicker frontal hull armor, a new heavy cast turret and strengthened running gear, so that it could break through the German defense at the head of a formation. Only a small number were built, and they were committed in Western Europe from the autumn of 1944. The armament was a 75 mm gun, and on some of the vehicles it was replaced in the field by a 76 mm gun. Because of the added weight it was slower than an ordinary Sherman, but the units valued it very highly.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel or photo-etch scissors on a hard surface, and never break them out. Make the folds in a bender or between two blades, so that the edge is sharp and straight. They are glued with cyanoacrylate in the smallest possible amount; on larger areas the gel version helps, as it gives time for exact placement. Cut the plastic originals away first and sand the area flat. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
The package holds photo-etched parts, not a kit of the tank. The base model, glue and paints are not part of the delivery.
