An application set for imitating Zimmerit on the Pz.IV Ausf.J in 1:35 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. An accessory for a plastic model, not a stand-alone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An Eduard application set for the faithful imitation of Zimmerit on the German Panzer IV Ausf. J tank in 1:35 scale. This is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory, which carries the structure of the anti-magnetic coating over onto a plastic model. The preformed parts copy the shape of the hull and the turret, so the laborious engraving of the pattern by hand falls away.
Zimmerit was a paste applied to German vehicles in the years 1943 to 1944 against magnetic mines sticking to them; on the surface it created a typical ribbed pattern. The Panzer IV Ausf. J was the last production form of the most widespread German medium tank of the Second World War. To simplify manufacture it lacked the electric drive for traversing the turret, and it carried a long-barreled gun of 75 mm caliber.
Separate the parts carefully, lay them on the degreased surface of the model and stick them on with super glue. Once it has dried, the whole can be sprayed with a base coat and weathered with washes and pigments just like the surrounding surfaces.
The accessory is supplied on its own, without the model of the vehicle, paints and glue.
