The heavy military motorcycle combination Zündapp KS 750 is refined by the photo-etched set 1:35 Zundapp KS 750 from Royal Model. It contains metal photo-etched parts. Target kit: Italeri.
Responsibility details are not available.
A motorcycle with a sidecar is among the subjects where photo-etched metal makes the most sense. Practically every part is thin, made of wire or sheet, and an injection mold cannot imitate that. Royal Model supplies a steel fret from which parts in a realistic thickness of material arise. The model of the motorcycle is sold separately. The photo-etched fret is prepared for the Italeri kit.
Zündapp of Nuremberg built the KS 750 directly to an army specification. A flat-twin boxer engine of roughly 751 cubic centimeters drove not only the rear wheel but, through a shaft, the wheel of the sidecar as well, and with it went a differential lock, a road and a cross-country gearbox and a reverse gear. The result was a combination that got through the sand of North Africa and the mud of the Eastern Front alike. Reconnaissance detachments, messengers and the field gendarmerie used it, and in period photographs the sidecar is often fitted with a machine gun on a folding mount.
Assemble the wire guards, the footpegs and the brackets separately and only then seat them on the finished frame, otherwise you will not reach the tight spots with tweezers. The shiny surfaces of the hubs and the exhaust come out best over a smoothly sanded base. Apply the dust on the fenders in a thin layer, so that the texture of the metal underneath stays visible.
Glue, paints and the plastic base are not enclosed.
