An injection-molded plastic kit of the modern German attack submarine of Type 212 in 1:350 scale from the manufacturer Hobby Boss. The package holds a full-hull model, photo-etched parts, a stand with a plate and an optional version of the sail.
Type 212 is a modern conventionally powered attack submarine of the German Navy, designed from the 1990s. She combines diesel-electric propulsion for running on the surface with an advanced air-independent fuel cell system, thanks to which she can stay quietly submerged for an exceptionally long time. She belongs among the most advanced non-nuclear submarines in service and serves with several European navies. The model captures the clean, hydrodynamically smooth forms of a modern vessel with its characteristic sail.
Glue the hull with a thin cement for plastic and sand the seams smooth. The sail can be assembled closed for running below the surface, or with the periscopes and aerials extended. Attach the photo-etched parts with super glue. Apply a primer and then matte dark gray shades with an airbrush. Accent the fine panel lines discreetly with a thin wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
