The set contains eight turned brass barrels for the main armament of the Japanese anti-aircraft destroyer of the Akizuki class. This was a dual-purpose gun of 100 mm caliber and 65 calibers length, the Type 98, which was regarded as one of the best Japanese secondary weapons of the war. The destroyers of this class carried eight of these guns in four twin turrets.
The metal barrels replace the original plastic parts of the kit and bring a symmetrical profile and a sharp muzzle. Eight barrels cover the complete main battery of the ship. Fitting consists of cutting off the plastic barrel and seating the brass replacement in its place.
The material holds its shape, resists bending and once painted looks realistic.
