This detail set from the Very Fire brand is an accessory for ship models in 1:350 scale, not a standalone kit. The package contains six sets of the searchlights used on the surface vessels of the Kriegsmarine in the Second World War.
It replaces simplified ship searchlights with fine, precisely shaped parts. The searchlights on the superstructure and the masts are a small but conspicuous element of a ship's profile, and a faithful rendering markedly raises the detail of a model in this small scale, where every fine point counts.
Separate the parts carefully from the carrier fret or the casting blocks and clean the surfaces up. For gluing small parts, cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) applied in a minimal amount proves itself. The glass of the searchlight comes out once it has been painted silver and, if you wish, given a clear varnish that imitates the lens.
This is an add-on set for reworking a ship model; the model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
