Injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese nuclear ballistic missile submarine Type 092 of the Xia class in 1:350 scale from Hobby Boss. The box contains a full-hull model with an engraved surface, a conning tower with retractable items, photo-etched parts and a stand with a nameplate.
Type 092, designated the Xia class in the West, was the first Chinese nuclear submarine to carry ballistic missiles and at the same time the first submarine of this kind designed and built in Asia. The vessel carried ballistic missiles launched from a submerged position and represented a significant step in the development of China's undersea strategic force.
Glue the hull with liquid cement for plastic and sand the seams smooth. The conning tower offers retractable periscopes and masts that can be assembled in the raised position. Attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Lay down a primer and then airbrush the dark gray shades of the hull with the deck set apart. Optionally open missile tubes and the fine panel lines will be brought out by a thin wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
