1:350 USS Nimitz CVN-68 part 3 is a photo-etched set from Eduard for a model of the American aircraft carrier Nimitz in 1:350 scale. It completes a model with thin-walled metal parts and does not hold the ship itself.
Responsibility details are not available.
A further part of the multi-part photo-etched series for a model of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz in 1:350 scale. Thin metal sheet allows elements to be made that in plastic are always only suggested: gratings, platforms, brackets and thin sections at scale thickness. This set is designated part 3 and is one of several that follow on from one another; they can also be bought separately. It is an accessory, not a kit of the ship.
The aircraft carrier USS Nimitz gave her name to a whole class of nuclear-powered carriers and has gone through a number of upgrades since she entered service in the mid-1970s. A model in 1:350 scale is large and its surface is densely covered with detail: railings, nets around the flight deck, platforms by the island superstructure and equipment on deck. It is these elements that decide whether a finished model looks right in scale or coarse.
Leave the fret together and cut the parts off only at the moment you are going to glue them, as otherwise the small parts are easily lost. Make the bends in one movement in a photo-etch bender. Before painting, degrease the parts and spray them with a primer for metal, otherwise the finish will flake during handling. They are glued with super glue in a small amount, and for more time to seat them a cement for clear parts will serve. Protect finished stretches during the rest of the build, because bent railings are hard to straighten.
