The prancing horse, cavallino in Italian, is among the best-known car emblems of all. On Ferrari cars it appears in two forms: on its own, on the grille or the wheels for example, and in an upright shield on the front fenders. It is precisely the emblem that is often the small thing on a model that decides whether the car looks finished. Printed logos from a kit, meanwhile, tend to be yellowed or cracked after years and lose their drawing on dark paint.
It is a sheet of markings on its own in 1:24 scale with the brand emblem. How many emblems the sheet carries, in which sizes they come and whether a version in the shield is among them are given by the manufacturer in the instructions for the set.
Before applying, check in the instructions whether the elements are self-adhesive or wet decals; soaking would ruin a self-adhesive film. The ground should be smooth and glossy, otherwise the edges of the film are conspicuous on small emblems. Cut the element out as close to the artwork as possible, move it into place with the tip of a toothpick or a damp brush and squeeze the air out from under it. Line the position up with the vertical axis of the car and let it dry; only then cover the surface with varnish.
For modelers of Italian sports and racing cars in 1:24 scale whose kit lacks the emblem or whose original one did not come off well. The model, paints, glue and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
