A masking set in 1:24 scale for painting the wheels of a model of the BMW M1, that is the BBS rims and the tires.
Responsibility details are not available.
The BMW M1 is a supercar of the end of the 1970s: a low wedge body and an inline six-cylinder mounted behind the crew. On its wheels it carried BBS rims, that is the typical fine mesh pattern of the German manufacturer, which is one of the most conspicuous details on a model. A wheel is meanwhile precisely the place where haste is told most often, because the transition between the light rim and the black tire outlined with a brush will stay wavy.
These are masking templates for painting the wheels in 1:24 scale. They define the boundary between the rim and the tire, so that the shade of the rim can be sprayed without overspray onto the tire. How many parts are in the package, what material they are made of and exactly how they are laid onto a wheel is stated by the manufacturer in the instructions to the set.
Wash the wheel parts first with lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry off, so that a mask holds. Stick the mask on before spraying and press the edge down with the blunt tip of a toothpick, mainly in the place where it passes over the edge of the rim. Apply the paint in several thin layers, so that it does not get under the edge. Take the mask off shortly after spraying, while the layer has not cured completely; the edge will then stay sharp and the paint will not tear away.
For modelers who build sports cars in 1:24 scale and want the wheels finished as cleanly as the body. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
