An illustrated guide from the Fast Guide range devoted to the McLaren F1 GTR in its Long Tail form. Reference for building and painting a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The McLaren F1 GTR is the racing version of the road-going McLaren F1. The long-tailed form, known under the designation Long Tail, was created for the 1997 season: the body was given different shapes and revised aerodynamics, so that the car would lose as little speed as possible on the long circuits of endurance racing. For the modeler it is a subject in which most of the work is hidden in the interior, in the wheel arches and in the areas around the exhaust.
Fast Guide is a range of illustrated guides for modelers. Each volume keeps to one car and shows it as the builder of a model needs to see it: the shapes, the division of the body and the places a kit's instructions do not reach. The extent of the publication and its language are stated by the publisher.
The reference is of most use before any gluing: from it you decide which areas of the model it makes sense to open up and what will still be visible once the build is done. When painting it helps to sort out the division of the surfaces and the transitions, which are hard to judge from a kit's own instructions. It also comes in handy when you are building from a different kit of the same car, because the real subject stays the same.
For builders of models of endurance racing cars and for readers who collect modeling literature. This is a printed publication; the kit, paints and parts are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
