A picture publication, not a kit. The eleventh volume of the Ultra Detail Guide series published by Komakai is devoted entirely to the Williams Renault FW14B and serves as a detailed photographic reference while building a model. It has 158 pages in A5 format.
The FW14B is one of the most striking single-seaters in the history of Formula 1. For the 1992 season Williams built it around the ten-cylinder Renault engine and packed into it everything the rules of the day allowed: active suspension on both axles, a semi-automatic gearbox and traction control. The car won ten of the sixteen Grands Prix and Nigel Mansell took the world championship title in it. For a modeler it is interesting precisely for what can be seen in the photographs — the densely packed rear end, the hydraulics of the active suspension and the details of the radiators.
For builders of single-seaters who want to work from photographs rather than from their own idea of the car, and for owners of FW14B kits in every scale. A collector looking for picture documentation of the cars of the active suspension era will use it too.
